Consultancies collaborate to deliver businesses unique Web 2.0 and social media solutions for internal and external communications. With collaboration, innovation and stakeholder engagement high on the business agenda, there is an increasing sense of urgency for businesses to embrace the opportunities offered by Web 2.0 and social media tools. One-third of executives recognise the importance of social networking by ensuring it is part of their business and operations strategy1. Yet a key block for business leaders and managers is a lack of strategic knowledge to analyse the business case for Web 2.0 and, moreover, ensure that the right social media tools are chosen to deliver on a company’s communications objectives. Currently the Government is in the process of publishing its Digital Britain 2012 report, which states that a successful Britain is a digital Britain. In response, specialist agencies theblueballroom (internal communications), thebluedoor (external PR) and redcatco (social media and collaboration technology) are collaborating to provide companies with 360-degree consulting, as well as implementation and training on how best to embed Web 2.0 and social media into business and communications strategies. theblueballroom’s founder and managing director, Sheila Parry, says: “theblueballroom has been looking at the uses of social media in the internal communications arena for some time and are committed to integrating them into our strategic offering – for the right purpose, with the right content, and for the right cultures. This collaboration is just right, both for the time and for the digital space, as it brings together a group of people with highly complementary knowledge and skills, exactly when businesses are realising they need it. I’ve worked with Abigail for almost two years and I believe Benjamin’s understanding of social media programme implementation will really enhance our consultancy offering to clients.” This unique internal and external end-to-end offering will ensure that business owners – as well as communications and HR professionals – can understand the opportunities inherent in the online space. Companies adopting this unique approach will benefit from a sophisticated understanding of how Web 2.0 and social media can effectively enhance their existing internal and external communications strategies. It will enable the correct strategies and tactics to be selected and embedded into communications channels. This significant collaboration between theblueballroom, thebluedoor and redcatco, will provide companies with invaluable insight, knowledge and skills to strategically embrace Web 2.0.
